ALLSTON SKIRT GALLERY

The owners of this small contemporary art gallery not infrequently show the work of two artists whose work may be at different levels of development.  In their previous gallery this curatorial attitude required two spaces - a 'front room' and a 'project room'.  This specificity was at times too limiting for group shows, single artist exhibits or video installations.  The careful placement of two pivoting walls provides for the division into two galleries, but with an ease of reconfiguration, provides numerous alternate configurations.  With each new show the possibility of a new spatial arrangement becomes point of departure for the show's identity in addition to offering intrigue, curiosity or surprise.
